The trip has gone well for us. Right now we are docked at this tiny, tiny village on an island just offshore of Honduras. Imagine a cruise ship pulling up, well, to your local city park. Karyn and Ilene met up with us yesterday. They had an ordeal for all time. Their plane out of Ontario Airport on Saturday night … the night before the cruise … was delayed two hours. They missed their connecting flight out of Vegas. America West in Vegas basically told them, Too Bad, and made little effort to help them make the cruise on time. But then another AmWest agent appears out of nowhere and gets them on a flight to… DC. So now they are DC, still scrambling, but find they have missed the boat. Then USAirways steps in … recall that AmWest and US Airways merged … and promises to get them to Grand Cayman, our first stop, so they can catch up. So they spend the night in DC, fly to Grand Cayman, spend the night there, and then on Tuesday we finally see them. Karyn and Ilene each brought a daughter, Shelby and Somer, so now we are just together and happy. Sam is tall and strong. He is certainly growing up. I have yet to ride a developing world jet ski, as I threatened, but the trip is still young.
