Heartbreaker for Argentina. Unmitigated joy for the Germans. I didn’t want either to lose. But did you see the German goalkeeper guess right on penalty kicks 3 times out of 4? The Germans will be tough. At this moment, it feels like a Brazil v. Germany final is coming.

That tells you the two things you need to know about what’s wrong with soccer and why it’ll never be big in the States. The guess of the goalkeeper was the deciding factor. And, penalty kicks help decide the outcome of four years of hard work.

It was a colossal game and it had everything (except maybe a result in extra time) that makes football the world game.
