My combined Father’s Day, birthday (July 2
and wedding anniversary (aug. 13) gift is… a video ipod. Kafi brought it home yesterday. Dig it, my people. It’s all that. I had already ripped the Harambee banquet video to 320×240, and it transferred immediately and played. Also, I had already ripped the U2 Vertigo Tour DVD off of the dvd into an .mp4 file. So I set Quicktime to rip that .mp4 file into an m4v file. Man, did that take 5 or 6 hours or what? But I got up this morning, transferred the file over, and whoa - it’s there. Easy. At some point soon I’m going to get the iPod AV Cable which allows you to connect your iPod to any old TV and play a video. This will be perfect when I’m out speaking at a church and want to show a Harambee video. Just gotta make sure to not accidentally play Mind of Mencia.

Rudy,
Congrats and welcome to my world!
You need to download Handbrake. It’s freeware (or donationware) and can convert directly from your DVD to a iPod usable file. You can break chapters up too. Still, it does take time to convert the files.
Enjoy!

Man, is Mind of Mencia funny or what? You would be my favorite speaker ever if you played that
